Search engine for your site - Site Search 360

Sitesearch360 is an advanced internal search tool that improves the user experience on a website. It offers fast and accurate search results, personalization and easy integration.

 

Getting a search engine code.

 

1. Register for Sitesearch360

1.1 Enter your email address

1.2 Provide your password

1.3 Provide the domain name to which the search engine will be assigned

 

2. after registration, go to the “Data Sources” tab

 

3. go to the “Website Crawling” tab, and enter your full URL, then click “Index Root URL(s)”.

Note: your site must have at least one navigation menu. 

 

4. go to the “Sitemap Indexing” tab, and enter your full URL, then click “Index All Sitemaps”.


Note: that the map is located at /sitemap.xml, so if your site has an address of https://yoursite.com, its map will be located at https://yoursite.com/sitemap.xml

 

5. go to the “Search Preview” tab, then enter a sample search phrase.

Move to the tab:

 

Entering the search phrase - after entering the phrase, press the search icon.


Start search configuration - after searching for a subpage by your phrase, click “Search Result Configurator”.

Go through all the search configuration steps, then click “Re-index now”.

 

Note: If you don't have page thumbnails press “Do not show image thumbnails” and “Do not show a text snippet”.

6. Go to the “Design & Publish” tab, and then click “Start now” next to the item with the name “Start from scratch”.

 

7. Then click on the “Yes” button. 

 

8. Customize your search engine.

 

8.1 In the “Primary color” tab, change the color of the search button.
8.2 Select “Add a search bar to my website”.
8.3 In the “Element selector” tab, type “#Search”.
8.4 Under the “Inject before/after” tab, select “Before”.
8.5 In the “Placeholder text” tab, type a text that encourages you to search, such as Search for a product.

 

Note: You can also change other values without any problem, sample values are provided in the tutorial.

 


8. After adding the styles of your search engine, publish it with the “Publish” button. 

 

9. copy the JavaScript code of your browser and then click “Publish”.

 

Adding a search engine to your site.
 

1. Go to edit your page.

2. Add HTML, CSS, JS element to your page.

 

3. in the HTML, CSS, JS element, paste the code given below, then click “Change code” button.

4. adjust the size and position of the HTML, CSS, JS element. 

 

5. paste the Sitesearch360 code (item 9) into the Head section of the page.

 

5. Publish your website!
 

Note: If your search engine does not display, use ctrl+F5 key combination.
