Adding products from a csv file

Save time and automate adding products. In WebWave, you don't have to add each item manually – it's enough to prepare a CSV file according to our template and upload it to the builder. See how to transfer your product list to the store in a few simple steps.

 Downloading the CSV template

Before you import products, you must prepare a file in the appropriate format. It is safest to use our ready-made template, which will guarantee that the system reads all data correctly.

To download the template:

In the builder's top menu, go to the Store tab, and then select Product list

Click the green Add product button and select the Add CSV file option from the list.

In the window that appears, click the "Download the CSV file" link.

How to correctly fill out a CSV file?

The downloaded template contains columns corresponding to specific features of your products. Fill them in according to the instructions below to ensure the import proceeds without disruption.

Columns such as "handle, name, price, description, tax" are mandatory columns. Without them, the builder will not read the file.

Column Name What to enter here? Example
handle Unique product identifier (product variants must have the same handle) leather-belt
name Product name displayed in the store Belt
price Product price (Use a dot instead of a comma) 77.77
description Product description (no punctuation, if there is a need to add it, the entire description must be in "quotation marks") Black leather belt...
tax Tax given as an integer 23
type Product type (variable - variant / simple - single product) variable / simple
imageUrl Link to the graphic (you can get it from the media library)
category Category or categories (in the case of multiple categories, wrap them in quotation marks and separate with commas) "Clothing,Outdoor"
availibility Product availability (1 - available / 0 - unavailable) 1 / 0
stock Number of pieces available 444
weight Product weight (if necessary, use a dot to specify weight) 0.4

Important tips before saving the file:

  • Do not change headers: The first row (name, price, etc.) must remain unchanged. If you delete it or change the names, the builder will not recognize the data.
  • Price formatting: Remember to use a dot instead of a comma (e.g., 20.50 instead of 20,50).
  • Photos: If you don't have links to photos yet, you can leave this column empty and add photos later manually in the builder.
  • Save as CSV: Remember that after editing the file in Excel or Google Sheets, you must save it again in .csv format.

Product import to the store

When your file is ready, return to the import window in the WebWave builder.

  1. Drag the file into the designated area or click Select file.
  2. Click the green Import button.

Done! Your products should appear on the list. Now you can proceed to edit the details of each of them directly in the builder.
